Cynthia Virissimo has helped me to view art in a whole new way! She has guided me through a variety of art projects in many different mediums. We’ve worked together in charcoal, watercolor, pastel, and colored pencil. Her patient kindness in addition to her masterful skill in the subject has helped me create visual representations that I didn’t know I was capable of. Cynthia’s passion really shines through in her projects and the work that she does with others. I feel very blessed to have received instruction from such a talented artist.

I have known Cynthia Virissimo for over nine years. Working with Cynthia as an Art Education professional and knowing her as a friend and mother of one of my better students has been a rare privilege.

When Arizona International Academy started in the fall of 2000 Cynthia was asked to organize and teach our art program. Her demeanor with students and staff, her knowledge of art, and the ability to bring out the creative individual potential in her students still sets the standard of excellence in teaching at AIA today.

Cynthia was willing to help in many other aspects of our school activities. She worked with school programs and art presentations, graduations, lunch programs, Thursday’s community service projects and filled in when other teacher were ill or unable to attend class. She has a common touch with the grace of a queen and always professional in her presentations.

As recently as the fall of this school year while living in the San Diego area she helped organize our Science Adventure Program to the San Diego area by providing information and food.
